Pain Management Highlights

Chronic Daily Headaches

When a person suffers from chronic daily headaches, much of their normal daily activities are disrupted. They may suffer from depression, sleep disturbance, social and relationship dysfunction, loss of work productivity, increased isolation from friends and family--and a number of patients may even become totally disabled.

Some people find traditional remedies do not make a difference with their head pain. They can manage some of the pain symptoms but are neglecting to treat the source of the aches like muscle tension and spasms. The most common source of head pain originates in the spine. These areas include the cervical discs, musculature and spinal joints. Other symptoms of headaches are associated with neck movement after an injury or other traumatic onset. Another common source of headaches may be associated with the inappropriate use of pain-relieving medications, whether the medicine is over-the-counter or prescribed.

With the many sources of headaches, a thorough understanding of the patient’s history and physical condition is necessary before pain management can begin. The clinicians at Utah Valley Pain Management work closely with each patient to determine the source of the head pain and to discuss an optimal treatment. Call us today at (801) 235-PAIN.
